Disk Management

In this section we're going to look at how to manage and troubleshoot hard disks in Windows XP Professional.

We'll consider the available options under Windows XP for creating partitions on a hard disk, creating and formatting drive volumes, and disk administration.

We'll also look in a bit more depth at basic storage and dynamic storage and how to configure and manage disks that have been initialized with either type of configuration.

A record of the actions you have taken to create, delete and format partitions, change volume labels, reassign drive letters, check disks for errors and backup drives can contribute towards your logbook for this unit.
