Exponent in Base 10
The column that is used when we write a number has a specific meaning. From right to left the columns are:
- The number of 1s or 10^{0}
- The number of 10s or 10^{1}
- The number of 100s or 10^{2}
- The number of 1000s or 10^{3}
And so on.
This is not a surprise. The first column is the number of digits. The second column represents the number of times we have used up all our 10 digits and so on.
