Start your browser and go to http://www.amazon.co.uk. Your screen will look similar to this:

Type E-Commerce in the 'SEARCH OUR SHOPS' box and pick Books from the 'All Products' drop-down list. Your screen will look as follows:

Pick the 'Go!' button and the following will be displayed:

Pick hit 2 (E-business and E-Commerce) and details of that book will be displayed. These details will include:

• an image of the book (which can be enlarged)

• a table of contents

• reviews

• related titles.

To purchase the book simply pick the 'Add to Shopping Basket' button as shown below:

Your electronic Shopping Basket will be displayed as shown below:

Assuming this is the only item you want to purchase, simply pick the 'Proceed to checkout' button to go ahead with your purchase. As this is just an exercise designed to take you through the process of locating and purchasing a book we won't proceed any further.

If you had gone to the checkout you would've been asked to login (existing Amazon users) or create a new Amazon account and then enter payment details.
