Remote Desktop is software that gives an authenticated user the ability to remotely log on to and use a system on a network as if they were using the system locally. This facility is useful for technicians who can not access a user's system in person.
There is a version of the software for client and server systems.
Remote desktop was known as Terminal Services in previous versions of Windows
