Vector Graphics

Vector graphics are efficient when it comes to large drawings of, for example, building plans. This is known as Computer Aided Design (CAD). As the drawings are large, they are not to be used very often on the Internet. They work by holding information about the lines, patterns, squares and circles, etc., rather than each individual pixel. For example, information may be held about the start and end point, width and colour of a line.
