Control Panel Items

Control Panel, which can be accessed from the Start menu contains numerous options for configuring your computer.
The following table gives brief descriptions of the control panel items most relevant to hardware:
| Item | Description |
| Add Hardware | Lets you install, remove, and troubleshoot your hardware (primarily used for non-Plug and Play hardware) |
| Display | Lets you configure your computer's display, including themes, desktop, screen saver, appearance and settings |
| Game Controllers | Lets you add, remove and configure game controllers, including joysticks and game pads |
| Keyboard | Lets you configure keyboard settings, eg: speed, language, keyboard layout and the keyboard driver |
| Mouse | Lets you configure mouse settings, eg: button configuration, mouse pointers, motion settings and the mouse driver |
| Network Connections | Contains settings for network connections and a Wizard to create new connections |
| Phone and Modem Options | Lets you configure telephone dialling options and modem properties |
| Power Options | Lets you configure power schemes, advanced options, hibernation, and UPS settings |
| Printers and Faxes | Lets you install and manage printers and fax devices |
| Scanners and Cameras | Lets you configure cameras and scanners |
| Sounds and Audio Devices | Lets you configure sound devices and to assign sounds to system events |
| Speech | Changes settings for text-to-speech and speech recognition |
| System | Lets you configure system properties, eg: network identification, hardware, user profiles and advanced settings. |
