Satellite Orbits

The path that a satellite takes round the Earth is called its orbit. There are three types of orbit and each is used for different purposes. The orbits used are:

• Low Earth Orbit (LEO)
• Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO)
• Polar Orbit (PO)
