Select Statement

The SQL SELECT command has many options allowing you to create sophisticated queries of data from the database.

It can, for example:

  1. select specific rows and columns
  2. sort the rows returned in ascending or descending order
  3. perform calculations such as counts, sums and averages
  4. define your own column headings when displaying results
  5. select data from multiple tables within the one select command.
