Find out more about Adobe Education Leader Programme
In October 2005, SQA and Macromedia initiated a first phase of collaboration to introduce the Macromedia Digital Design Course into the Scottish curriculum. This collaboration is part of SQA's Digital media and ICT Vendor Alliance (DIVA) programme.
On 3 December 2005, Adobe Systems Inc acquired Macromedia Inc. The Macromedia product and professional development portfolio continues under the Adobe brand. The DIVA collaboration process was formally launched in Glasgow on 26 October 2005 by Pauline Yau, Education Sales Manager, for Macromedia (now Adobe), with Anton Colella, Chief Executive, and John Young, Director of Qualifications, for SQA.
Initial activities have included:
- Facilitation of 'train-the-trainer' events for school and college practitioners in the Digital Design Course.
- Review of the potential to develop a Digital Design Staff Development Guide for Scottish educators.
- Discussions regarding the potential incorporation of the Digital Design course work into the Scottish curriculum.
- Ongoing dialogue on the inclusion of Adobe support materials in SQA units
