Wednesday 26 October 2005, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) announced a major programme of collaboration with industry leaders in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and digital media aimed at enriching the curriculum in schools and colleges across Scotland and giving teachers and lecturers new professional development opportunities.
SQA is to extend its DIVA programme in 2006, increasing the number and range of partnerships with industry suppliers in the ICT and digital media sectors. As for the first phase of the programme, SQA is following a rigorous process in selecting industry partners for DIVA involving desk research, surveying and interviews, using standard criteria.
SQA has set up a Learning Provider Reference Group to feed ideas and views into the DIVA Programme. The first meeting was held in Glasgow on Tuesday 21 March 2006 and was a lively two hour meeting in which 13 colleges participated. PTC joins the DIVA partnership with Strathclyde University providing Lead Centre support for schools and colleges taking on the ProEgineer toolset.
