CIW and SQA have signed a three year non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on Scottish education and training awards within the SCQF.

The agreement with SQA will cover:

  • Introduction of ComputerPREP learning materials into the Scottish curriculum and customisation as required.
  • Collaboration on incorporating ComputerPREP learning materials into the Scottish Award structure.

Initial work will focus on incorporating the CIW Foundation course into the HN Interactive Media qualification.

ComputerPREP will make available licensed content and assessments at best prices for use within Scottish Colleges and ensure that best prices are available for both electronic and print content.

ComputerPREP will also create a professional development scheme that will enable uptake of the CIW awards in Scottish colleges.

One or more education partners will be selected through open tender process in 2007 to act as a delivery partner (Lead Centre) in the college sector for the SQA ComputerPREP collaboration programme.

"Working exclusively with DIVA to develop learning materials designed specifically for Scottish curriculum will engage us in understanding a deeper knowledge of the particular needs of the Scottish computing, multimedia and technology qualifications,” said Marjorie Quigley, Regional Director EMEA APAC of ComputerPREP. “The SQA-ComputerPREP partnership will expand VCampus’ already robust range of Web-related product offerings and learning solutions for the EMEA market."
