Credit Rating and Levelling SVQs for the SCQF
Credit Rating and Levelling of Scottish Vocational Qualifications for the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework 2005-2006
On 25 August 2006, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) presented the project report for the Credit Rating and Levelling of Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) for the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
SQA, with funding from the Scottish Government, contracted with nine Sector Skills Councils or other sector bodies, and 12 awarding bodies, with the main aim of allocating an SCQF level to 24 SVQs and calculating their SCQF credit points. This main aim was successfully met.
Eight SVQ areas were selected for the first phase of the project:
- Aquaculture at levels 2 and 3
- Business Administration at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4
- Health and Social Care at levels 2, 3 and 4
- IT Users at levels 1, 2 and 3
- Management at levels 2, 3, 4 and 5
- Performing Manufacturing Operations at levels 1 and 2
- Retail at levels 1, 2 and 3
- Water Bye-Laws Enforcement at level 3
