Welcome to the website dedicated to the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers (DGSA) syllabus and examinations.

If you're in the transport business, you'll know that since 1st January 2000, any company or other organisation that transports dangerous goods (and certain other organisations involved in transport related activities) should have appointed qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers. This requirement, prompted by the EC directive (96/35/EC), covers road, rail, and inland waterways.

Advisers will have to hold a certificate gained by passing a written examination. In the UK, the examinations are being set and administered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) as the agent for the Department for Transport (DfT).

On this site you will find all the information you need including the complete examination syllabus - which you can view on-screen or download as a Word document - as well as a list of centres, examination dates, and an application form which can be printed and sent to the SQA.
