Permitted exam materials

The following documents may be used in the DGSA examinations. This list will be further revised for subsequent examinations and you should ensure you have an amended version if you are sitting any examinations later in the year.

Examination questions will be based predominantly on RID/ADR/ADN. However, candidates should study the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 and the Carriage of Dangerous Goods: Approved Derogations and Transitional Provisions with particular emphasis on the regulations and schedules listed on page two of the syllabus.

Candidates should note that the use of electronic equipment, including CD ROMs, is not permitted in the examination. However, the use of downloaded material from internet sources, for example, the HMSO/DfT website, is acceptable. ONLY the following documents may be taken into the examination room. Any candidate found in possession of extraneous material will have their examination paper declared null and void by SQA.

Dangerous Goods Emergency Action Code List 2009
Candidates should note that incorporated into each exam paper will be a number of example substances taken from the DG EAC list which can be used to answer questions in the exam along with the attached extracts. These extracts will be provided on the day of the examination. However, candidates are also permitted to take the full DG EAC List publication into the examination room.
