Flexible working

We support work-life balance by encouraging and promoting flexible working arrangements. This can range from ad hoc requests, for example coming into work later than normal, to making a permanent change to your pattern of working hours. Other arrangements covered by our flexible working policy are term-time working, annualised hours, working from home or compressed hours.

Flexi-time

People who work for SQA can arrange their working day to suit their personal needs, subject to current policy and ensuring work is done and teams are adequately staffed throughout the day to support our customers.

Holidays and public holidays

We offer a generous leave package of 27 days a year. All staff members are entitled to 14 public holidays, which now includes St Andrew’s Day on 30 November!

Group Life Assurance scheme

We have in place a Group Life Assurance scheme which makes provision for a tax-free lump sum equal to one times your annual salary and paid to a nominated beneficiary if you die in service.

Recognition voucher scheme

Our staff recognition scheme rewards staff for their exceptional contributions. To say ‘thanks’ for an extra special achievement, our managers can award a voucher that can be used in a range of high street stores.

SQA Lifestyles

SQA Lifestyles (www.sqalifestyles.co.uk) is our online shopping experience where you can benefit from substantial reductions and money-back offers from a range of High Street stores. There are regular promotions in the staff newsletter.

Free on-site car parking

Car parking policy

Limited free car parking is available for cars at all of SQA's sites. Priority is given to disabled members of staff or those suffering with a medical condition.

Long service celebrations

We reward our loyal and committed staff with an annual long service celebration that recognises 15, 25 and 35 years service. You receive gift vouchers along with the thanks of the Chief Executive and the SQA Board for your ongoing service.

On yer bike!

We have a pool of bikes located in Glasgow and Dalkeith that staff can borrow to cycle to local meetings or for weekends.

Cycle to Work scheme

We operate a cycle purchase scheme which helps you to buy a bike of your choice with an interest free loan. This is paid back through monthly salary deductions.

Free drinks

SQA provides tea, coffee and mineral water to all members of staff free of charge (available from staff kitchens and vending machines).

Shower facilities

For those members of staff who do something energetic in their lunchtime or who occasionally need to change before leaving work, SQA has provided changing facilities and showers.
