Summary of processes and procedures for centres
Inform SQA of revision or development using the SQA Form 1
Qualifications Manager will check that there is no duplication with any existing or planned PDA and will inform the centre of authorisation to proceed
Centres with non-devolved authority will work with the Qualifications Manager to develop and validate the PDA
Centres with devolved authority, using Units already in the SQA catalogue, can proceed with validation of the PDA. All Units used in new/revised PDAs must be SCQF credit rated and levelled
Centres with devolved authority wishing to develop or revise Units can request authorisation to write Units and subsequent validation of Units via SQA, using SQA Form 2 and SQA Form 4 respectively. SQA has produced Guidance on writing Higher National Units to aid this process. Thereafter centres should follow the validation processes for centres with devolved authority
