The National Qualifications covered by this handbook are: Standard Grades, National Units and National Courses (including Skills for Work Courses).

The handbook provides general information on the following - please use the following link to expand contents: Conditions & Arrangements Contents

  • conditions and arrangements for the approval of centres
  • registration and entry of candidates for National Qualifications
  • arrangements and procedures for external assessment and verification of internal assessment
  • conditions and arrangements for certification

Details of the examination materials that should be provided for candidates are also included.

More detailed information is given in the Operational Help Centre and in the Arrangements documents available on the subject pages of our website - there are links to these in this handbook.

You can use the search facility below to find the Conditions and Arrangements for individual subjects and levels. If you need a printed copy, you can create a tailored version that meets your requirements.

  1. First, use the search facility below to find the first subject that you need details of.
     
  2. Next, check the tick-boxes next to the areas you require and click on 'add to portfolio'. You will then see a link (with an open book icon) which tells you how many documents you have in your portfolio - you can click on this link to check the documents in your portfolio. This link also gives you an option to remove documents from your portfolio.
     
  3. Continue to search and add until you have added all relevant documents.
     
  4. When you have added all the documents you need to your tailored portfolio, click on 'create pdf' to generate your tailored copy of Conditions and Arrangements.
