Carolyn Davidson

Carolyn joined SQA in 2002. As Business Manager of Research and Information Services she provides leadership, direction and support to the team. Carolyn has overall responsibility for ensuring that the work of RIS is widely disseminated to both internal and external stakeholders and for developing links with the research community.

Marie McGhee

Marie joined SQA in 2001 and is the Statistician within Research and Information Services. She heads the statistics section ensuring the delivery of research and analysis providing intelligence to both internal and external customers and supports current research projects. She provides advice and statistical support for grade boundary setting meetings.

Simon Allan

Simon is the RIS: Research Project Manager with responsibility for SQA’s information and environmental scanning services. This includes PRIMED (Policy and Research and Information Monitoring and Environmental Database), the research portal, library services and consultation responses. Simon also provides advice on consultations, questionnaires, focus groups and research methods. He project manages a variety of research projects.

Susan Kirk

Susan has a background in teaching and educational research and joined RIS: Statistics in 2005 as Assistant Statistician before moving onto her current role as Quantitative Researcher.

Susie Hill

Susie is a Research Analyst in the RIS: Research team. She has responsibility for SQA’s consultation processes, environmental scanning, and briefing sessions. Susie produces a monthly digest of issues and developments, a quarterly trends digest, and briefing papers and summaries. She also provides ad hoc and analytical services.

Susan Williamson

Susan is a Project Officer (Data Analysis) in RIS: Research.

Stephen Thomson

Stephen joined SQA in 1999 and is Senior Statistical Officer in RIS: Statistics. He is involved in the provision of statistical information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Stephen is responsible for the regular reporting of Higher National and Vocational qualifications. He schedules and assists the management of grade boundary setting meetings each year.

Peter is an Officer in the RIS: Statistics team with responsibility for the management of ad hoc queries.
