Freedom of Information

Our Freedom of Information policy is explained on our website (www.sqa.org.uk/foi). Its aim is to ensure that we fully meet our obligations under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

It is also an important contributor to our aim of being open and transparent.

On the website you can find our guide to information available through the Publication Scheme. This sets out the various types of information that we hold, and the ways it can be made available. It aims to provide a useful way of gaining an insight into our procedures and decision making.

Should you be unable to find the information you require from our Publication Scheme, please complete the Freedom of Information Request Form, available on the website. You can submit this online, or by sending a hard copy to our:

If you require information of a personal nature, you will need to complete a separate Data Subject Access Request Form to comply with the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. This service is subject to an administration charge, which is detailed on the Form. Please be aware that, under Schedule 7 of this Act, examination scripts are exempt. Access to examination scripts is also exempt under Freedom of Information legislation.
