HNC/D Engineering Systems

The HNC/HND Engineering Systems award aims to develop candidate's abilities to apply analysis and synthesis skills to the solution of engineering problems and provides an award that creates a route towards meeting the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer status.

Candidates will also be provided with opportunities to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in an engineering systems approach to the study of Engineering and achieve a degree of specialisation within one or more of the following areas: Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Fabrication and Welding.

Candidate Information

The HNC Engineering Systems is a flexible single or multi-disciplinary engineering award. In the mandatory core you will study units that place a strong focus on a systems approach to engineering with equal treatment being given to mechanical and electrical engineering. Find out more.

The HND Engineering Systems is a flexible single or multi-disciplinary engineering award. The optional section spans many different engineering disciplines. It also includes all the units in the PDA in Renewable Energy Systems at SCQF Level 8 which means that it may be possible for you to achieve the PDA in Renewable Energy Systems as you complete the HND.
