The HND has a strong managerial focus will enable candidates to progress more quickly to supervisory/management roles. In addition, HND candidates, through their choice of options, will be able to prepare for a career (or further studies) in a number of specialist areas, for example, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Financial Services.

Given the broad nature of both the HNC and HND, the qualifications can be used by candidates to provide them with the key skills, knowledge and understanding to go on and set up and manage their own business.
