A wide range of groups and organisations were represented by the126 delegates participating in the HN annual conference.
Although representatives were mainly from Scotland, there were also a number from further afield.
Key speakers included:
All of the presenters emphasised the importance of strong partnerships in qualification development and stressed the significance of these partnerships in the achievements of the HN Modernisation Project. The HN Modernisation Project had also been acknowledged as a model of good governance, with colleges and organisations sharing resources, which had resulted in benefits to all. Speakers identified the challenge for the future as the need to build on these partnerships so that the benefits of the HN Modernisation Project could be maintained and extended to other qualification development.
Delegates at the conference also had the opportunity to participate in workshops, which covered a range of topics that are crucial to the future development of HNC/Ds and other qualifications. Workshop topics included: skills, employability, e-learning, Professional Development Awards, the implementation of Graded Units, assessment in HNC/Ds, and the profile and promotion of HNC/Ds.
