ANNUAL REVIEW 2002/03

Every year, as part of our governance, SQA lays a formal Annual Report and a full Annual Financial Report before the Scottish Parliament.

Both of these documents are available below or can be obtained by contacting us at customer@sqa.org.uk or by calling at our offices during normal business hours. In addition, this year we have published this Annual Review.

As is mentioned in both our Chairman’s and acting Chief Executive’s Reports, we are working hard on delivering ‘Our Strategy for Action’. The strategy is based on six areas of focus, and this Review reports on progress made in each of these during the year.

The contents of this Review, and other management information, strongly indicate that we are improving our qualifications as well as our delivery and reliability. This progress is being made with and through schools, colleges, training providers and businesses alike, and is providing clear benefit to individual candidates and the nation.

In addition to this performance summary, we also provide a brief overview of our financial performance for the year 2002-2003, and a table showing progress we have made in 2002-2003 towards the 2005 targets set out in our current Corporate Plan. While this Review focuses on highlights in each area, the fuller picture is outlined in our formal Reports.
