Entering Candidates

Candidates can be entered at any time. SQA will accept entries for Group Awards throughout the year, and certificates are issued on a weekly basis for candidates who have qualified. All entries must include a completion date - for Group Awards, any month can be specified as a completion date.

Registrations for the current version of PC Passport will be accepted until July 2008. Candidates then have until July 2009 to complete the current version.

Entries should be made using the normal methods used to pass entry and results data to SQA.

Industry Recognised Certifcation

Through SQA's partnership with Microsoft, centres can choose to deliver PC Passport through IC³ or Microsoft Office Specialist curriculum and online testing. This provides an opportunity for candidates and centres to add an industry recognised qualification (Office Specialist or IC³) to PC Passport.

The process is simple:

Facilitation

To facilitate accreditation, the candidate should present either the exam score report or the full certificate to the centre where registration has taken place.

The centre should take a photocopy of the candidate's exam score report and/or certificates as evidence of completion of the relevant PC Passport Unit. Should the centre and candidate be audited by SQA, the photocopied exam score report and/or certificates of successful candidates will be accepted as evidence of completion of the relevant PC Passport Unit.

Examples of the exam score reports and these certificates are listed below:
