Updated Frameworks

Update November 2008

The Drama Qualifications Design and Development teams have worked throughout the year to develop the new Units that will form part of the new National Certificate in Drama: Performance and the new National Certificate in Drama: Technical Theatre (both at SCQF level 6).

Following this intense period of Unit Specification Development, SQA are now in a position to provide an update on the Units and Outcomes that have been developed to date.  This information is detailed in the updated frameworks below:

Background

In Drama, consultation with the FE sector and other key stakeholders started in January 2006 and a scoping report was commissioned by SQA in February 2006. This report became the basis for further consultation with the sector through to May 2007 and resulted in the identification of key areas for development and consensus for the way forward. The need for 2 NQ Group Award areas was clearly identified under the following working titles: Acting and Performance, and the Technical Theatre; development work in both areas commenced in August 2007.
