Meet the Project Team

SQA is pleased to introduce their newly configured specialist Oil and Gas development project team that focuses entirely on the qualifications and associated services needs of the Oil and Gas industry; either preparing people to enter careers within the industry or for existing workforce development.

The project team is comprised of David Adcock as the Business Development Project Manager and Drew McNeice as the Business Development Project Officer with Alison Spice, Business Development Manager, bringing extra strength to the project team with additional expertise for customer support. Very experienced in relation to SQA qualifications and systems for approval and quality assurance, the team also brings experience in the area of Engineering and Construction, Process Operations and Safety Systems relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.

The project team currently have a number of key products and services under review and development to support the Oil and Gas industry in the broad areas of business and workforce development.  These products include:

• an electronic portfolio of competence and qualifications
• a tool for matching company qualification requirements to the content of the e-portfolio
• customisation of awards to meet specific company requirements
• e-assessment
• International Vocational Awards (IVA)

In addition, an electronically supported system of recording and managing candidate assessment of competence is close to commercial release under the product name of e-competence: Energy.

Developments in the provision of Continued Professional Development (CPD) and Consultancy Services are also been undertaken by the project team. Contact the team if you want to know more about these developments.

Operating both nationally and internationally, the team are also embarked on a number of market interactions to establish the needs of the Oil and Gas industry in terms of SQA products and services. In this respect, the team are keen to hear directly from critical stakeholders of the industry such as Oil and Gas operators, their contractors and the wider services supply chain, across all business areas.

Backed by other specialist business managers and qualification managers across a huge span of vocational areas, SQA Oil and Gas presents a formidable resource in support of the industries requirements for workforce development and certification of competence in this vital area of the energy sector.
