Professional Development Workshops

Throughout the year we offer a series of half and full day continuing Professional Development Workshops (PDWs). All of our workshop are developed and delivered by subject specialists, covering a range of topics relevant to business owners, assessors, verifiers, teachers and lecturers. In fact any professional working within an SQA approved centre or within the Scottish employer, training and education sectors.

You will learn about assessment in your training and learning area because they can be subject specific;

You will be able to deliver a unit, course or qualification to reflect principles of internal and external assessment and maintain SQA’s Scottish Quality Framework because topics have a best practice theme;

You will gain defined areas of knowledge and skills related to training and education, including relevant SQA policy and procedures, because every PDW has an aim and learning objectives;

You will learn these areas of knowledge and skills in a structured approach because every PDW has a defined programme and format;

You will have the opportunity to network with peers because every PDW has interactive group tasks, presentations and demonstrations;

You will identify best practice and new ideas from networking with peers and other businesses;

You will receive proof of your own continuing professional development because every PDW includes a delegate pack, reference materials and a personalised CPD certificate.

To date over 800 delegates from SMEs have a attended one of our Professional Development Workshops. Delegates are given the opportunity to evaluate the workshop and provide general feedback. During 2006 to March 2007, 96.5% of delegates agreed overall that they were very satisfied with the workshop they attended and their comments included:
