The future of first aid approvals – an update on the review of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
The Health & Safety Executive and SQA have posted a joint statement on the HSE web-site with regards to the above. The Health & Safety Executive is considering the introduction of a new training course in first aid at work and that the training course should lead to a qualification, which will be accredited by SQA (in Scotland) and by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (in England).
The joint statement can be found at http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/review/dec07.htm and the consultation regarding the proposals closes on 8 December 2008.
