Brian Lister - plenary sessionBrian Lister, Chair of National Qualification Group Awards Key Partners' Group and Chief Executive of SFEU drew the Conference to a close with a plenary session.

Brian focused on the Skills agenda and how there should continue to be strong links between skills and qualifications and workforce productivity, stating that higher level core skills such as enterprise, controlled risk taking, collaborative skills, conceptual and creative thinking skills and research skills should play an important part in any future developments.  With regard to how the challenge of incorporating these, Brian highlighted the important economic, social and cultural roles which have to be embraced by those offering qualifications, in partnership.  Brian concluded that in promoting excellence, there were four areas which should be highlighted:
