What are Core Skills? / Why are the Core Skills I’ve been awarded not the same level as my courses and units achieved?

It is not easy to discuss the concepts of Core Skills over the phone and you may find it helpful to go to your school or college to discuss the matter further.

Core Skills are available at SCQF Level 2 ( Access 2) to SCQF Level 6 (Higher) levels only. Each course and unit is audited against the national Core Skills framework. Core Skills are built into many National Units and Courses at a level appropriate to achieve what is needed in the unit or course. This is not always at the same level as the unit or course itself.

Core Skills are always listed on the Profiles page of your certificate.
