Can I get access to my exam script under the Freedom of Information Act?

No.  Examination scripts are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and Data Protection Act 1998.

This is a request for personal information.  The Freedom of Information Act gives individuals the right to access non-personal information held by SQA.

You are entitled to use the Data Protection Act to request access to your marks or any comments made by a marker.  (However, you should note that markers are instructed not to add their comments.) This requires you to submit a formal Subject Access Request and to pay a £10 fee.  We will then respond to your request within 40 days of receipt.  You can access the Data Protection Form on our website at www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/3909.html
