Annual Health Warning - Group Awards and Units

This information forms part of the regular updating service SQA provides to centres to help ensure that you are working with current Units and current Group Awards. Consultation with centres has highlighted the importance of ensuring currency of Units and Group Awards in the first quarter of the year so that centre plans for the following academic year can be based on accurate information.

The documents which are attached summarise the following:

All current Group Awards.
All Group Awards and Units which will enter their finishing period 2009-2010.
All Group Awards and Units which will enter their lapsing period 2009-2010.
All Group Awards and Units that have entered their lapsing period.

You should use this information to help plan your programmes for next session. Here are some suggestions as to how you might use this data:

Check that the Group Awards you deliver are still current.
Check the currency of the Units you deliver.
Ensure that the correct codes are entered in your system.
Check that staff delivering Units which are entering their lapsing period are aware of new developments.
Check that staff are aware of new Group Awards and Units in their specialist areas.
