International Vocational Award in Police Management (SCQF level 8) (G90A 48)

The IVA in Police Management is designed to equip candidates with the skills necessary to operate effectively in a policing or law enforcement environment and help them deal with the challenges they may face in relation to both people and organisational management. It will examine the role that managers play in improving performance and delivering the strategic intent of the organisation. It will examine the many different facets and styles of leadership and will consider the role of leaders where organisations are undergoing change and the part that inter personal skills play in a leadership role.

It will also examine the nature of different organisations, the impact that culture can have on an organisation and how different organisations are structured and why.

The award is made up of a small number of mandatory Units as shown below:
