
The following is based on Brannock High School’s Action Research Project application for funding.
Brannock high school is a non-denominational, co-educational comprehensive school in Motherwell. The Brannock High Action Research Project project aims to:
Senior students following NQ Personal Development Courses will choose between two curricular groups: MAD (Making a Difference); and BEST (Brannock's Excellent Senior Team).
A wide variety of activities have been scheduled for the MAD group including: 
The BEST group will engage in activities associated with chambers of commerce, both local and national. The school has been identified as a pilot school to promote chamber business. Links will be made with local business partners to foster community and economic awareness. Specific projects will surround the development/modernisation of our school, in line with the locally changing socio-economic environment, as a consequence of the regeneration of Ravenscraig.
The BEST group will also act as a significant conduit in the promotion of pupil and parent councils.
Both MAD and BEST groups will assist in the variety of tasks associated with an end-of-year public performance. This is likely to be a theatrical/musical show, staged within the local community.
