SQA's Endorsement Service

This service can endorse your qualifications/assessed training programmes or resources. Endorsement by SQA demonstrates that your qualification/programme or resource consistently delivers its stated aims and objectives; is constantly reviewed and kept up to date; underpins good practice; and encourages a culture of learning.

SQA offers two types of endorsement:

• endorsement of non SQA qualifications/assessed training programmes
• endorsement of resources which support the delivery of SQA qualifications and awards

Endorsement of non SQA Qualifications/Assessed Training programmes

SQA can endorse qualifications/assessed training programme from another organisation where they meet SQA’s endorsement criteria. Endorsed qualifications/assessed training programmes can use the SQA Endorsed logo on in-house certificates and promotional material outlining the nature of the endorsement. The qualification/programme must be:

• outcome based,
• subject to quality assurance
• assessed
• certificated

Through endorsement by SQA these qualifications demonstrate that they meet quality assurance standards to ensure valid and reliable training and competence judgements.

Endorsement of resources which support the delivery of SQA qualifications and awards

SQA can endorse learning, teaching and assessment materials, produced and published by another organisation to support SQA qualifications. Resources will be branded with the SQA Endorsed logo and an endorsement statement which outlines the nature of the endorsement. The resource must be:

• fit for purpose
• subject to quality assurance
• accurate and up to date in their content
• support SQA qualifications

SQA endorsement means that your organisation’s learning, teaching and assessment materials have been quality assured for purpose, currency and consistency.
