What we do
The New Ventures Team aims to facilitate the development of effective partnerships and leveraging of capability, engaging with colleagues to assure the relevance of SQA and its offerings into the future. We aim to achieve this by:
- Predicting and highlighting SQA for potential shifts in the market for qualifications and related service
- Developing new value adding income streams leveraging existing SQA capability and/or body of knowledge
- Working with Global Learning Leaders to enhance the learning opportunities offered by SQA
- Building synergies with public and private organisations and other National Agencies
- Working with internal and external colleagues to better understand and identify potential opportunities
Our team is keen to work closely with other stakeholders in an attempt to forge new and exciting partnerships and we are now looking to further our remit - towards developing new partnerships with publishers, broadcasters, industry and providers of learning materials as well as developing new relationships with other organisations and awarding bodies which will benefit the learners of Scotland. We also aim to explore new ways of working in Scotland and Internationally that add value to our portfolio of services.
We hope to link engaging learning content to new dynamic ways of assessment and quality assurance and to work closely with other stakeholders in an attempt to forge new and exciting partnerships. We already have a number of projects with a range of partners underway - but we are happy to explore opportunities for partnership in Scotland, UK or overseas and we strive to make use of the growing Open Educational Resource movement and drive developments that benefit Scottish Learners and the global learning community.
