Linguistic Support in English

The aim of SQA’s Assessment Arrangements policy is to make adjustments for disabled candidates when they are placed at a substantial disadvantage in relation to the published assessment arrangements. An example of this in practice is the use of linguistic support in English.

Additional guidance for centres using Transcription with correction in English

Transcription with correction is designed to meet the needs of candidates who have substantial difficulties with written communication, but who need to write their responses because they are unable either to use ICT or dictate their responses. The guidance below provides instructions to transcribers where this arrangement is used in assessments in English.
