The Scottish Government has launched new guidance for teachers to help them implement assessment for Curriculum for Excellence. The package of support includes events and best practice examples. It provides an outline of the approaches to assessment to support the purposes of learning 3 to 18.
A new parent toolkit has been launched to help teaching professionals communicate with parents about Curriculum for Excellence. The toolkit contains case studies, film clips, images and a bank of slides and provides practitioners with the tools they need to talk to parents with confidence.

On 11 June 2009, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning announced changes to Scotland's National Qualifications which will come into effect from 2012/13. The guidance sets out skills for learning, life and work for Curriculum for Excellence and shows how they are embedded in the Experiences and Outcomes.
