There is a clear progression from Intermediate 1, where students acquire knowledge to describe business functions and situations, through Intermediate 2, where the emphasis in on explanation, to Higher Business Management, which will enable students in particular to develop analytical skills, as well as to acquire a deeper knowledge and understanding of the role and operation of business.
The core of the course is decision-making. It gives students a thorough grounding in the place and importance of business in a modern society, and provides transferable skills such as the ability to adopt a logical approach and to communicate complex points clearly. It highlights the importance of enterprise to all organisations.
The Higher Business Management Course is at SCQF level 6.
