The Intermediate 2 qualification in Classical Studies offers in-depth study of the classical world's social aspects, including drama, and further investigation of Roman archaeology and classical mythology. The course offers options for detailed study of political structures and systems, religious values, practices and beliefs, and social and moral issues.
Learners develop skills in evaluating aspects of ancient Greek and Roman civilisation, making comparisons between the two ancient societies and with modern society. They also gain abilities in comprehending, interpreting and comparing sources, assessing them for viewpoint, bias and reliablility.
The Intermediate 2 Classical Studies Course is at SCQF level 5.
