Access 2 French

Access 2 French

The Access 2 qualification in French offers a very basic introduction to the language. The course aims to develop learners’ awareness of the existence of French lifestyles and an appreciation of ways in which they are both similar to and different from their own. Discussions in the study of France are carried out mainly in English, but learners become familiar with a limited number of relevant French words and phrases.

In the other parts of the course, simple and factual French will be used, and learners gain both understanding of the language and the ability to interact with a speaker of French. They will learn in the context of real or imagined scenarios in France or as recreated interaction with speakers of French in Britain.

The Access 2 French Course is at SCQF level 2.
