Access 3 Geology
- Learners will find out about rocks, fossils, scenery, coal and oil.
- Learners will see that Earth movements bend and break rocks on a large scale.
- Learners will come to realise that the Earth provides us with fuels, metals and building materials.
- Learners will undertake practical work so they will develop skills of observation, interpretation, recording and communication.
- Consideration of how people affect the environment will foster the development of positive attitudes towards the environment.
- Scotland has few equals as an area in which to study Geology. Learners will come to see that Geology has made a significant contribution to our natural and industrial heritage.
The Access 3 Geology Course is at SCQF level 3.
