
The Intermediate 2 qualification Home Economics: Fashion and Textile Technology covers practical fabric skills. Learners will gain knowledge of textile properties and characteristics. The course encourages imagination and creativity in the preparation and making of textile products.
The Intermediate 2 qualification Home Economics: Health and Food Technology course focuses on the physical, chemical, nutritional, biological and sensory properties of food. Learners are encouraged to be creative in preparing and producing food and in evaluating finished products.
The Intermediate 2 qualification Home Economics: Lifestyle and Consumer Technology
covers healthy eating and food preparation skills. The course develops knowledge and understanding of the requirements for parenting and child development. The course also offers learners opportunities to develop and use specialist textile craft skills.
The Intermediate 2 Home Economics Courses are at SCQF level 5.
