
The Access 2 qualification in Media Studies develops basic knowledge and understanding of the media and media products through a balance of analytical and practical work. It also develops skills in planning, producing and evaluating simple media products.
Learners gain basic abilities in describing media texts and contexts of production. They learn to give personal reactions to media items, which might come from print, radio, television, cinema, popular music or advertising. The course also offers scope for exploring various issues including equal opportunities.
The Access 2 Media Studies Course is at SCQF level 2.
