Innovative developments in e-Learning and e-Assessment
In April, we secured £1.7 million from the European Social Fund (ESF) to enhance the delivery of National Certificates, National Progression Awards (NPA), Skills for Work, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses over the next two years.
This followed an announcement by the Scottish Government of a further investment of £95 million in 129 projects across Scotland to develop the national workforce, create and safeguard jobs, and regenerate communities.
We will receive the funding through three projects, which run until May 2011. The projects will focus on the development of innovative e-learning and e-assessment materials for new pre-vocational and professional qualifications, enhancing access for all learners.
Dr Gill Stewart, Director of Qualifications Development said ‘It’s great news that SQA was able to secure this ESF funding. It will ensure that we are able to provide enhanced support to learners and deliverers of our qualifications for at least the next two years.’
Martyn Ware, Head of e-Assessment and Learning, added ‘This new funding reflects the success of SQA's ESF funded work to date. It gives us a great opportunity to help bring about a step change in the way we and centres work with e-Assessment.’
