Complaints Regarding the Handling of Requests Made Under FOISA

If you are not satisfied with the way in which we have dealt with a request for information made under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) act 2002, you have the right to request a review of our actions and decisions in relation to that request.  A request for a review must be made within 40 working days of receipt of the original decision, should include the name and address of the applicant for correspondence, the request for information to which the review refers and the matter giving rise to the dissatisfaction.  Review requests should be sent to:

The request will be acknowledged and a review will be carried out by a senior official within SQA.  Their decision will be sent to you within 20 working days of receipt of the request.  If you are still dissatisfied, you have a right to apply to the Scottish Information Commissioner for a decision.  Further details on this process is available on the Commissioner’s website (www.itspublicknowledge.info).
