Launch of National Assessment Resource

The National Assessment Resource (NAR) is now available.

NAR is Scotland’s National Assessment Resource for Curriculum for Excellence and is a joint development between Learning and Teaching Scotland, SQA and the Scottish Government.

It was unveiled today at the Scottish Learning Festival by the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Michael Russell MSP/BPA.

It will support assessment in practice and will support practitioners in developing a shared understanding of standards and expectations for Curriculum for Excellence and how to apply these consistently.

NAR will initially support assessment approaches for learners aged 3-15 by providing:

All local authority practitioners in school and early years settings will be able to access NAR through their Glow account.

Independent schools and colleges will be given access to NAR via the SQA Connect portal.
