Skills for Care and Development and the Scottish Social Services Council have recently reviewed the National Occupational Standards for the SVQs in Children's Care Learning and Development. Through an incremental review, it was recognised that some of the Units required to be updated.

PDA Radiographic Imaging GC8W 48 at SCQF Level 8 is now available for download. This exciting new Qualification was validated on the 17 June 2011 and has been designed to meet the requirements of NHS Scotland to extend the scope of practice of staff working at Assistant Practitioner (AP) level in Clinical Imaging services.
A leaflet has been produced which explains the new SVQs in Healthcare Support (Clinical and Non-clinical) levels 2 and 3. The leaflet can be downloaded from the website.
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has confirmed that the current SVQ in Management at level 4 (G81R24) is acceptable for registration and will remain so until the SVQs in Management are revised (expected date February 2011).
The new learning resource 'Preventing falls and fractures in older people' has been developed to help health and social care professionals adopt a consistent approach to delivering learning programmes. It provides a framework for designing training programmes that deliver key messages at an introductory level.
