SSSC Research activity: Impact of qualifications on the social service workforce
A qualified workforce means higher quality social services and better outcomes for people who use services. The views of social service employers and employees about this is critical to evaluate if qualifications result in higher quality social services and better outcomes for people who use services.
If you would like to contribute to this study, there are several ways you can get involved including;
- complete an on-line employer or employee survey. If you are a Manager in social services with an SSSC practitioner and management qualification. You can complete the employer survey discussing how qualifications impact on the practice of others and as an employee discussing how the qualification has impacted on your practice. The on-line survey should take about 10 – 15 minutes to complete. To complete the on-line survey click either
- take part in a focus group meeting in SSSC Office Compass House, 11 Riverside Drive, Dundee DD1 4NY on Tuesday 16th November at 10.30 am or Glasgow on Monday 15th November at 1.30 pm. (venue to be confirmed). Focus groups will last no longer than 1.5 hours.
- participate in a telephone interview. The telephone interview should last approximately 10-15 minutes. If you would like to take part in a telephone interview please inform Lorna Trainer by email email@example.com or by telephone at 0141 637 5716 to arrange a suitable time.
The closing date for the on-line survey is Monday 29 December at 5.00 pm. This provides an opportunity to discuss your views on this important research area.
