Since January 2007, SQA has issued a revised, easier to use and understand Scottish Qualifications Certificate (SQC) to candidates. The SQC is a candidate's life-long record of their qualifications. As a result of feedback and in consultation with candidates, we have redesigned the certificate to make it a clearer layout and easier to read.
SQA, with funding from the Scottish Government, contracted with nine Sector Skills Councils or other sector bodies, and 12 awarding bodies, with the aim of allocating an SCQF level to 24 SVQs and calculating their SCQF credit points.
On 5th September 2006, The European Commission adopted a proposal for a Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the establishment of the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning (EQF).
